Used to be that TV programming was reliable enough to set your watch to... then corporate greed got the better of them and they got "creative" with their programming and timing and such. With the advent of time-shifting DVR units all the rules went out the door.

Unfortunately there really is not much you as a consumer can do (see Christine's post above) because they are really playing it fast and loose with their scheduling and formatting. Until they feel it is in their best interest to get back on schedule (until it makes financial sense) you are pretty much stuck.

My suggestion is to just turn the damn thing off and do more writing :) I'll bet you can write better than what they have on the networks anyway.

 I LOVE HEROES. I haven't watched TV in what...the toddler is three? So, three years. Cat bought me Heroes on DVD...watched the entire damned first season in one weekend. The writing and story arcs are great.

I'm just going to get Season 2 on DVD too. To avoid the Tivo issues and the commercials ;)

Hey, Jackie...do you happen to have Comcast DVR? Because that's what I have and ever since they changed thier format (they had to go an reinvent the wheel - apparently the old UI wasn't good enough for them), my recordings keep getting cut off at the end. In fact, (even though I told him to make sure we didn't miss a second), I missed the last bit of the show last night too. I was really pissed off because I watched it later and couldn't go back and catch it at the beginning of the next one. Anyhow, I find that if you alter the settings on EACH show that you can avoid this from happening. However, if you have a ton of shows programmed like we do, you may end up getting screwed and having conflicts because of the extra minute or so you add to the end of the show to actually catch it! It's so infuriating...I'm about ready to build out a media center and tell Comcast I'm over them. I hope you can figure something out!
