I’m conflicted here:
Kirk did die in that other movie and it would be hokey, and the time line would be I assume to be a very old Spock which is like 300 years old, long after all this went on.
On the other hand, the dude is 76 and Shatner really wants to do it. He might not be around for another movie. And Captian Kirk is the man.
Also IMO I don’t think they needed a young Sulu, Chekov, and a few others. Kirk, Spock, Scotty, and McCoy and some totally new charcters would have a better feel to it.
Is it going to be Captian Pike in charge or the Enterprise?
