Galley Time!
Got a knock on the door today from the FedEx delivery dude. And…it’s galley time for HOTTER THAN HELL! (Galleys = page proofs = my last chance to proofread this puppy before it gets put to bed. Er, am I mixing too many metaphors here?)
Some fun HOT facts:
1. It clocks in at 321 pages. Considering this manuscript was about 17,000 words longer than either HELL’S BELLES or THE ROAD TO HELL, I’m stunned it’s not that many more physical pages in book form than either of those books (274 for HB; 280 for ROAD). Huh. Wait, maybe 40 more pages is a lot. Oh, hell, I don’t know. Anyway, it’s a bigger book.
2. There’s an Author’s Note at the end. It mentions some background info about HOT (and HB), and it indicates that there will be a section on my website that will talk about HELL research and stuff. Yes, I promise, that’s all coming soon! (I love my web designer. She doesn’t mind when I tell her that I want to completely redo the content architecture of the website.)
3. There’s no teaser chapter for the next Hell book. Not that there’s no next Hell book. But the teaser chapter won’t be included in Hot. (Could that be because I’m, you know, still writing the fourth book? Er. Maybe.)
Anyway, I’m still looking for someone to draw a headshot of Jezebel and of Melpomene. Any takers?
Hello? Is this thing on?
