I am sorry to hear that your little guy is sick. What helps my kids is to just cuddle in my bed and watch a little TV and just snuggle and being pampered.

I hope he is feeling better. There is nothing quite like a bored four year old…I have nephew that age…and boredom never really works out well.

Thanks, Qwill and Ewoh! It wasn’t that bad yesterday, when he was actually sick. But today was just the “can’t go to school for 24 hours after a fever breaks” thing, and MAN, having a bored four year old in the house when you’re on deadline for writing AND are in crunch time for the day job is no picnic!

Sorry to hear about TDTY being ill. My oldest (5) likes to watch movies and also have a TV tray to do puzzles and to color. The wee one (3+) likes movies, TV and jello gelatin. Both like to watch from the couch with blankets, pillows and their favorite toys and stuffed animals. A bonus is when one of the grandmas can come over for a period to play or rest with them.

I make my bed up with lots and lots of pillows, some stuffed animals, and lots of blankets. That’s where my sick child spends the day with me. They watch TV and I read. We both feel better because we are together.

And Skarrah, yes, my little’un watched a lot of TV today. I couldn’t spend all the time with him because unfortunately, I was working. (Telecommuting is a blessing, but it’s also damn difficult at times.)

My Mum used to make a bed up on the sofa and let me watch cartoons all day. She usually stayed with me the whole time too. Guaranteed to perk me up a bit even if I still felt rotten.
