Book Buzz Tuesday!
It’s August 5, and there are a bunch of fabulous books available now!
GALE FORCE, Rachel Caine. Part of the fantabulous Weather Wardens series, this latest installment finds Joanne Baldwin in the most dangerous situation of all: planning her own wedding. Oh, yeah, and saving the world. Again. **grin** I love, love, love this series. All hail Rachel Caine! (Order from Powells here.)
LORD TOPHET, Gregory Frost. This latest by Greg is the sequel to the acclaimed fantasy novel SHADOWBRIDGE (both from Del Rey Books). If you haven’t met Leodora yet, read the Cat and Muse interview with her. And then go get SHADOWBRIDGE and LORD TOPHET, and you’ll see why Greg has been nominated for every major fantasy award. (Order from Powells here.)
COUNTDOWN, Michelle Maddox. I freaking LOVED this book. As Michelle Rowen, her paranormal romances are light and funny. But as Michelle Maddox, her futuristic romantic fantasy kicks ass and takes names. The book starts fast and gets faster. USA Today bestselling author Cheyenne McCray says this about COUNTDOWN: “An intense thrill ride with mind-blowing twists and turns at every corner. Michelle Maddox weaves danger, excitement, and heat that will leave you breathless.” I agree completely. (Order from Powells here.)
STORM BORN, Richelle Mead. Richelle is one of those rare authors who could write the dictionary and make it an amazing read. I’d gleefully buy anything she writes. This all-new series introduces us to Eugenie Markham, a shaman who banishes the spiritual nasties that threaten the mortal world — and who is front and center of a prophecy that claims her child will be A Player in the world. So you know **every** supernatural dude wants to get into Eugenie’s pants. Or kill her. (Order from Powells here.)
UNDERGROUND, Kat Richardson. Book three in the Greywalker series. Death, doom and destruction are threatening Seattle, and it’s up to PI Harper Blaine to make it all okay. Ass-kicking ensues. See why New York Times bestselling author Charlaine Harris calls Harper “a great heroine.” (Order from Powells here.)
ISBN UPDATE
I’m pleased to report that the ISBN snafu has been worked out. As of July 29, B&N seems to have ordered the correct ISBN, and stores should have the book in stock. So it’s official: run out and get yourself a copy (or two) of HOTTER THAN HELL today! That’s right: August 5 is officially launch day for HOT also! Huzzah! Many thanks for your patience during this mixup.
