    Oh, For F***’s Sake

I loved this headline on CNN.com:

    “Biden’s comments called ‘A new low’ “

    The comments?

Biden said GOP advocates for children with birth defects should support stem cell research.

BIDEN: “I hear all this talk about how the Republicans are going to work in dealing with parents who have both the joy … and the difficulty of raising a child who has a developmental disability, who were born with a birth defect. Well, guess what, folks? If you care about it, why don’t you support stem cell research?”

McCAIN-PALIN spokesman PORRITT: “Barack Obama’s running mate sunk to a new low today, launching an offensive debate over who cares more about special needs children. Playing politics with this issue is disturbing and indicative of a desperate campaign.”

So let me get this straight: Biden’s clear view on a hot-button issue is now being dismissed as “a new low”?

Boo on you, McCain and Palin. And boo on you, CNN, for feeding this ever-growing news-as-sensationalism frenzy. Maybe if the media stopped glomming on pseudo-controversial statements and instead actually reported instead of merely parroted, we would all be better off.

One Response to “Oh, For F***’s Sake”

    1. Hi Jackie. I’m sure that the Daily Show will have a field day with this when they are back on next week…
