My BFF Renee gave me WATCHING THE WATCHMEN for my birthday prezzie, and it’s fabulous. At one point, I’d seriously thought about becoming a comic book artist, so the Gibbons book was a true joy to read — and to just look at. The Neil Gaiman “Watchdogs” cartoon was a fabulous bonus.

But this quickie blog post isn’t about the Gibbons book. It’s about the Watchmen movie, which is supposed to hit the big screen in March 2009. Well, there’s the teensy problem that Fox sued WB over the distribution rights. Blah blah blah, the judge ruled on Christmas Eve in favor of Fox. Uh oh.

So, like, what does that mean for us die-hard Watchmen fans? Will March bring much gladness along with typical basketball madness? Or will there be sadness?
