New books! New review!
There are tons of books out there on the shelves this week, including…
Girls Just Gotta Have Guns by Toni McGee Causey
Yes, this is the mass-market reissue of Bobbie Faye’s (Kinda, Sorta, Not Exactly) Family Jewels — but the heat factor has been dialed up (woof!!!), which makes this laugh-out-loud Southern caper comedy even better. Toni is one of the few authors who makes me laugh so much I cry. Seriously funny. God bless Bobbie Faye. (And keep her far away from me!) If you haven’t read the first in the series — Charmed and Dangerous — do yourself a favor and buy it as well as GIRLS JUST GOTTA HAVE GUNS. You won’t be sorry.
Staked by J.F. Lewis
Mass-market reissue of the 2008 original! What, you haven’t read this darkly funny take on vampires and werewolves living in Void City? Come and say hello to Eric. I dare you. I double-dog dare you. Jeremy is one of my fellow authors in the League of Reluctant Adults. And I promise you, he’s just as reluctant to grow up as the rest of us. Pick up STAKED today — lower price, and a sweet new cover!
Prey by Rachel Vincent
I am so freaking hooked on the Werecats series! Faythe, the protagonist, has grown a lot since we first met her in Stray — but she’s as strong-willed and funny as ever! When people talk about kick-ass urban fantasy heroines, Faythe Sanders is definitely on the list of who they’re talking about. She kicks ass AND takes names. (In this case, literally.) PREY is my favorite in the series so far…and I’m eagerly awaiting the next book.

Earlier this week, SciFi Guy gave a terrific review of BLACK AND WHITE. And we didn’t even slip a $20 into his copy!
