    Pit and Paradise

Thank you to everyone who commented on Hell to Pay, and on whether they would read Pit and Paradise if it were an e-book series. So here’s what’s going on.

    1. I’m going to be posting HELL TO PAY as an ebook on Kindle, for $2.99. Before I can do that, I have to format it, and the person who was going to do that for me has flaked out, so first I have to learn how to format it. So this will be coming soon, but that’s all I can say for the moment.

    2. I’m going to move forward with Pit and Paradise. Well, with the first book, definitely, and if that goes well, I’ll write the rest of the series. 🙂 So the plan is this: I’m going to write P&P book 1, BEFORE THE FALL, and that will be an ebook. Part of the fun will be that readers won’t need to have read the Hell on Earth series before reading Pit and Paradise. Spiffy, eh?

So you may be wondering when this momentous event will take place. Let’s see. I have two contracted books I have to write/finish (LOSS and BREATH, books 3 and 4 of The Riders’ Quartet), plus two short stories (one YA, not part of the Quartet, the other adult, and does not include demons, angels, or superheroes), plus a YA proposal. I have to write the synopsis of BEFORE THE FALL to use it as a road map (plotting AND pantsing, FTW!), and then I have to, you know, write the book. I’m thinking it will be first person, with some third person thrown in. (How’s that going to work? Give me time. I’ll figure it out.) Jezebel — a little different from the Hell on Earth Jezzie, and if you read HELL TO PAY, you know why — will be the main protagonist. Daunuan will have a very important part, I promise. As will Paul. And Alecto. And Caitlin. And…

    I’m getting ahead of myself.

Hmm. How about this: I’ll aim for BEFORE THE FALL e-book publication for January 2012. This isn’t set in stone, but I’ll do my best to make that happen.

And if you want to send me encouraging notes along the way, feel free! 🙂

PIT AND PARADISE, by Jackie Kessler. Some days, it just doesn’t pay to stop the Apocalypse.
    Coming Soon!

    1. Hi Jackie!
I am in awe of your work ethic.
      Wow.
Of course, as I love reading your writing, I am selfishly glad of your work ethic and output.
You & Seanan McGuire are my heroes.
I am also happy you are entering the ebook publishing business.
Sending you lots of love & best wishes,
      Rob

    5. On Kindle? 🙁 But what about those of us to use Nooks instead? I love your work, and have waited for Hell to Pay to be done to read it in full. I’d LOVE to have it in ebook form, but doesn’t the Kindle format not transfer over to other ereaders?

    6. Thank God you are writing Pit and Paradise. I actually prayed for this. I never thought I would be looking forward to becoming a year older, but if waiting a year gives me more Jesse and Daun I look forward to the year (hopefully) flying by; bring on the wrinkles. You’re awesome! Thanks for continuing my great escape!
